I thought when he said GSW was the worst team in the NBA that he had hit his own level of Idiot for the night, but the Kidd remark was just fucking - as you might say - stooooopid.

Alcohol-induced dementia, possibly?
Kenny The Jet is a smart guy, but being paired with Chuckles makes Kenny seem like Einstein.

I remember watching magic doing that commercial for instant cash the first time, and feeling wooow!!!! why did he do that ! I don't care how much they paid him for that commercial, it was a low point in his carrier,
these instant cash agencies are filth, they get a poor person or a family in need, and then they charge them up to 200% interest rate, if that is not a crime, I don't know what is !

At least one Nobel Prize winner in biochemistry believes that HIV does not cause AIDS, and he's convinced me. In my opinion, Magic is lucky that the poison cocktail he's been swallowing didn't kill him.

You must be referring to Kary Mullis (who is a notorious acidhead by the way....not that that is a bad thing, just sayin).....and while he did win a Nobel Prize for discovering the Polymerase Chain Reaction (a way of replicating exponentially larger numbers of copies of a DNA strand) he said in his book that, had he known more about chemistry at the time, he would not have discovered it (meaning his ignorance of the current limitations of the field caused him to try things no one else bothered to try). In other words, he got really, really lucky. He's a very smart guy, but by no means the most foremost expert on biochemistry, immunology etc. There are plenty of people just as smart or smarter who profoundly disagree with his conclusions about HIV/ AIDS. He may one day be proven to be right, but I wouldn't take his word as gospel.

But of course, Kary Mullis. There are very few people who have his status that are willing to stand up to the "powers that be" and call "Bullshit".
His basic point is that to date, no one has shown how the so-called HIV virus causes AIDS. On the other hand, the pharm companies are raking billions, and pushing chemos that were disallowed as cancer cures because they were too deadly. Researchers feast on grants to do research. Follow the money.
This is not to say that AIDS does not exist. What we're saying is that its not caused by a virus, but generally by the chemicals (some call them drugs) that some people ingest.
It's my belief -- after a fair amount of research -- that humans have carried the virus since forever, we just notice it now.
Peter Duesenberg debunked the AIDS "epidemic" in Africa. Again, it's about channeling money.
If I ever do contract the virus, I'm not going to worry about it. Of course, I'll disclose it to my potential sexual partners, but no poison cocktails for me.
Whatta thread! In only 11 mesages we go from the latest drunken inanity spewed by Chuckles, to Magic's business choices, to Kary Mullis and Peter Duesberg.

i dont really have a personal hall of fame... these guys didnt have all the answers and i didnt expect them too... but they did show compassion for people that were like them and did what they could to help... jim brown to this day is still trying to help stop black youth from killing each other over bs...
people like magic and barkley care far more about filling their pockets up than the people they can help... and rather than help people up, they are purveyors of garbage made to keep people on their asses... they are first class scumbags... :-(

yes... tommie smith, john carlos, cap, jackie robinson of course, and many others...
True. But Brown was the most dominant and may have been the best athlete to ever play the game -- the Wilt Chamberlain of football. OTOH, Rice certainly had the greatest career ever, making him more like Kareem in comparison.

JB was a regular at the Stardust Hotel from his days doing the Stardust Line with Lee Pete(after Lefty)...he would go golfing with the Casino Manager...Freddy Pandolfo at Freddy's house on Hilton Head I've dealt to him a couple of times... I use to listen to The Stardust Line religously...at the time there was no better source for sports betting info http://www.lvrj.com/sports/7812757.html

Comparing players from different eras is full of variables that must be removed from the equation in order for it to be reliable. Stat-happy Baseball fans (like me) have been able to get more and more reliable formulas since the statistical innovations breakthrough by Bill James, but I still argue with my friends about who is the best ballplayer ever. Of course, I really don't need a statistical abstract to know that the best ballplayer ever was John Peter "Honus" Wagner, The Flying Dutchman himself, because my father, who was born just south of Pittsburgh in 1896 and saw Honus play many times, told me so. And my father would never lie to me about something that important. ;-)

Jim Brown is one of my heroes, not as a sports star, as a Human Being.

"I am not a role model" told me all I needed to know about Barkley's character. Sports stars are role models for their young fans whether they like it or not, and he's a piss poor one.
