  I installed both programs and did both scans including the restarts, it took &lt;br&gt; a while and found a few things but did not solve the previously stated &lt;br&gt; problems - my internet explorer being redirected to harmful websites and &lt;br&gt; blocked from downloading the updates that are supposed to fix the problem. &lt;br&gt; Everything is still the same.

  Hello, &lt;br&gt; Everytime I try to install the below 5 updates I get an error code 646 &lt;br&gt; message. I&#39;ve tried to install them for weeks now, I&#39;m still getting the &lt;br&gt; error message &lt;br&gt; -Security update for microsoft office excel 2007 (KB978382) &lt;br&gt; -Security update for microsoft power point 2007 (KB957789) &lt;br&gt; -Security update for the 2007 microsoft office system (KB969559)

  Hi Ottmar, &lt;br&gt; I&#39;ve been using Firefox so had not been visiting update via IE8 as it likes &lt;br&gt; one to do. &lt;br&gt; Going in via IE8 and letting it find all the updates that way it seems to &lt;br&gt; have worked and I have a whole lot more log files in the windows directory &lt;br&gt; than I did before, including the one that had been playing hard to get!
