maybe we should kick start the search for a talk now?
I m really looking forward toa nice Ruby talk or even a code jam?
I havent been using ruby at all myself in the last few months, as i m
working in two separate .net projects one nice , the other horrible,
however in both i ve been using a lot of jQuery and ExtJs if anyone is
interested in either of those i can create a small presentation
Cheers

That sounds great. I'd be interested in these too.
Anyone interested in in having a meetup on Tuesday Sept 9th for a talk such as Andrea's? I don't know what the deal is with booking the presentation room in the Morrison and stuff. If you're interested in attending the meetup then ack here.
Now booking La Taverna for afterwards, I can handle that :-)
I'm off on hols next week but would be up for code jams after that.

Feels like time to mix things up a bit. The morrison/taverna gig is tired to me.
What do people think of a venue change? Could we find somewhere we can use for free/cheap? Put sponsorship money (if any) to other use - like pizza, pop, beer, books, screencasts, guest speakers.
How about a change in format for presentations? Lower the barrier for people who'd like to present, 1 hr is too much, restrict talks to 5? minutes with the goal of more involvement/diversity.
9th Sept is handy timing - coming right after Rails Conf Europe. How about all of us who go try to digest and summarize one or more talk/workshop/keynote we attend into 5 minute slots?

That sounds great. Less formal presentations would be a good idea and generally mixing things up rather than it always being presentation driven would help keep things fresh and less cermonious.
Now... where to get a free venue with pizza... hmm...

+1. That sounds good, thanks Darragh. :-) (and Andrea for presenting)
> > Everyone's very quiet!
We're busy coding. :-) And blogging. *cough*
I think we're definitely due for a coding brunch again soon. I'm open
to alternative venues if someone can suggest somewhere quiet (so they
won't mind us hanging for a few hours) with free wifi. Otherwise we
can do New York Grind again on any Sunday where there's nothing on in
Croke Park (it fills up early those days).

Darragh asked me to prepare a little bit about CouchDB. Absolutely
happy to do so, but just wondering what level people would like to
hear about. So far, I have this idea:
- What / why of CouchDB?
- High level overview
- Getting up and running with CouchDB and Ruby
Does this sound like stuff that people would be interested to hear
about?

Hey!The what/why and getting up and running with ruby sounds great. It mightn't be immediately relevant to everyone, but I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship... Perhaps you can give a quick demo of Exceptional aswell?

PS. Gonna repost about Tuesdays meetup in a post of it's ownies.
